A wonderful meat dish or platter circa 1820, in 'Girl Musician' pattern, produced by John and Richard Riley (1796-1828) in Burslem, England. Bucolic scene complete with country house, meandering river, grazing animals, kneeling shepherd, girl playing the flute, and a border of glorious wild roses.
There are recessed channels through which meat juices can flow into a large recessed well. No backstamp. Minor wear to the rim and some discolouration on the back but overall in excellent condition.
